Being nostalgic

This week has been a really weird week for me with all the emotions. I’m going to miss having the best job I could ever ask for. I go through emotions of happy, sad, angry, excited, and nervous just about every hour. I have no idea what I’m going to do and where I’ll end up, and that makes me extremely nervous and hopeful and excited all at the same time. I am one of the few people they asked to stay on till December to help with a transition, and I have decided to do it. After that, I will get a decent severance package to give me time to look for a new job. 

Curtis and I have been spending the weekend chilling while Zoey is at Young life camp in OR. Today we even took the Jeep out and rode to lunch. This weekend was exactly what I needed and was amazing to feel like old times and familiar as I feel like my life is spinning out. I know in my heart that Curtis and I will be fine, but the sense of uncertainty definitely is weighing on me and it is going to be a challenging year. 

Got laid off

Well, it finally happened after an amazing 18 year ride. NBC News split into two companies and since I worked on the brands going to Versant, they don’t allow remote people in leadership positions so I was laid off. I’m in total shock and super sad I can’t believe this is coming to an end. 😭😢😭😢😭😢😭😢😭😭😭😭😭😭

4th grade!

So he starts fourth grade today! I can’t believe how big she is getting. Yesterday we got to go meet her new teacher and she seems really nice. Zoey is nervous and excited for her first day of school. After school, you could tell she had a really good day and it was perfect to end the day at the lake with Irie and Charlotte.

Zoey keeps getting better and better at cheer and I am so proud of her. It’s crazy to watch these three girls grow up together, I love it so much.

The Weekend

Jill and I decided to go to a concert together and she wanted to see The weekend so we went. It was an interesting concert, not one of my favorite bands, but still a lot of fun top pop songs. The set was crazy weird with a bunch of girls walking around with sheets covering them. It was super bizarre, but we had fun.

B’s birthday dinner

For Barbie‘s birthday dinner, we all went down to Fogo de Chão, where Evan is a waiter or server, whatever you call it and was able to give us the special treatment. His boss came out at one point and brought us this amazing steak that was grilled on top of a salt stone. It was pretty cool. It was a yummy dinner and I definitely want to take Curtis there. 

New rug!

Granty and I put the finishing touches on the bottom area with a new rug and I love it so much!!! It turned out so good and now all I wanna do is hang out down there, but we need a new couch lol

Bye Mia!

Mia is leaving us to move to Pittsburgh and we are going to miss her like crazy. A bunch of people came over today and we had a goodbye party in my backyard for her. I’m loving my new area and thanks to Granty it looks so pretty.

Relay Triathlon

 

Barbie, Candy, and I did a relay triathlon this year. I swam, Barbie did the bike, and Candy did the run. It was so fun to still be a part of it and get to do my favorite part, swimming. I hope we continue doing this yearly as I know all of us really loved it

I am so excited as today we finally got Air conditioning for the house! It will be so wonderful to not have a bedroom that is so hot every night. I feel so lucky!!!

Zoey wanted to have a picnic with me at the park today and it was so meaningful to me. We needed a day together and I’m so glad we got to do this.
