Softball tournament - federal way

Zoey had a tournament this weekend near Monique’s house and a bunch of family came to support her. Flame did an excellent job and got third place in the gold bracket. We are all so proud of them! I was still at home recovering and watched game changer and felt somewhat a part of things. I’m so thankful that they record the games so we can watch at home.

Zoey and Fern

For little league tonight, Zoey’s team played Fern’s team and Fern’s mom got a really good shot of them at the game! I think it was really fun for them to play against each other and have that camaraderie even though they were on other teams.

Sinus surgery

I’m a bit nervous for my sinus surgery, but I’m ready to go and have my silly little air puffy heated blanket!

Surgery went great and apparently I was covered with cyst and polyps and so I’m hoping after all the swelling is gone I start feeling 100% better! Now just recovery which should take about a month.

Being nostalgic

This week has been a really weird week for me with all the emotions. I’m going to miss having the best job I could ever ask for. I go through emotions of happy, sad, angry, excited, and nervous just about every hour. I have no idea what I’m going to do and where I’ll end up, and that makes me extremely nervous and hopeful and excited all at the same time. I am one of the few people they asked to stay on till December to help with a transition, and I have decided to do it. After that, I will get a decent severance package to give me time to look for a new job.

Curtis and I have been spending the weekend chilling while Zoey is at Young life camp in OR. Today we even took the Jeep out and rode to lunch. This weekend was exactly what I needed and was amazing to feel like old times and familiar as I feel like my life is spinning out. I know in my heart that Curtis and I will be fine, but the sense of uncertainty definitely is weighing on me and it is going to be a challenging year.

Got laid off

Well, it finally happened after an amazing 18 year ride. NBC News split into two companies and since I worked on the brands going to Versant, they don’t allow remote people in leadership positions so I was laid off. I’m in total shock and super sad I can’t believe this is coming to an end. 😭😢😭😢😭😢😭😢😭😭😭😭😭😭

Home game with Hugo

Since Curtis is out of town, I got to take Hugo to the Seahawks game. It’s so fun taking him now that he loves football even more and understands so much about it that now that I’m even learning something from him! Love my nephew so much 😍

Alaska fishing trip

Curtis is having a “horrible “time fishing in Alaska with Oppy for their 50th birthdays! I keep getting amazing photos of salmon that I can’t wait to eat, gorgeous fishing shots, and lots of bears. I can’t believe he’s seen so many bears on a daily basis and even had to move out of one of his fishing spots because a bear came in and said, nope that’s my spot! He’s going to be home soon, and I can’t wait to hear more about all of his adventures.

Annual Girls Away Trip - road trip to SF

Since we had a smaller group this year and all of us were here in Seattle, we decided to road trip it down to San Francisco for the game. We hit a bunch of wineries, the redwood forest, and as many beaches as we could find. We had a really great time and it was a relaxing drive.

For the game, we met up with Amy and her family and even though they are 49er friends we were all friendly lol. It felt so good to get a win this year!

On our drive home, we hit a few more wineries and also went to a cute little oil bar where you could test a bunch of different types of oils and vinegar. I bought a few and can’t wait to try them when I get home.

Another successful year, Go, Hawks!!!!!

Cheer, sleepover, cheer, wedding

Our busy weekend started Friday night with Jr Liberty cheer performing at Friday night football. After the game a few of her friends came over for a sleepover and they had fun practicing cheers and squealing all night.

In the morning they had an early cheer game and all were a bit tired…..oops. I guess that is the price for having fun!

After the game, we quickly raced home and got showered up for Tristan‘s wedding in Lynden. It’s been so fun watching all the cousins grow up and become adults. I remember when we all used to go camping and they were the little kids running around…. time flies.

Fantasy football

Another successful year of fantasy football draft at Amy’s house. We have a couple new girls this year, which will be fun and I think I got a good team. I hope I win this year!

Dave Mathew’s Band

Instead of heading home right after the rodeo, we decided to head to the Gorge to see Dave Matthews Band. I’ve always heard of people doing this every year and so it was fun to actually see it and be a part of the festivities. We all had a blast and who knows, maybe we’ll do it again next year?!?!?!

Ellensburg Rodeo

We all had a good time at the rodeo and the weather was perfect! Later that night we went back for the bulls show and that was fun, but not that much different than what we saw at the rodeo so we probably won’t go again. It’s crazy to see those fierce bulls with people on top. They did do a pretty good job of all the extra fun stuff and clowns, music, it was all very entertaining!

Ellensburg rodeo

Barbie and I decided to go ahead of everyone else and watch the parade on Friday night and it did not disappoint. We had a blast and I love hanging out with my sister!!!
