Trolls at Point defiance zoo

We had a fun day finding all four trolls at the Point Defiance Zoo. This could be one of my last Fridays off before I start back up with NBC so taking advantage of a date day with my hubby.

So a few days ago, I was talking to the coaches about the girls needing something in the dugout to get their minds off of things through the conversation we came up with a stuffed animal that looked like Birdie, which is Taylor’s little dog. We got a little burgundy bandanna and put birdie 00 on it and the girls are absolutely loving it! They’ve started taking turns taking it home between games and I think it’s really helping them in the dugout. I’m so happy!!!!

Spring break

Since I am still recovering from my surgery, I wanted Zoey to have a good break so I told her to plan some sleepovers. Well, she did that and ended up having six sleepovers! She had a blast and it ended up being one of her favorite spring breaks yet. 😍

Softball tournament - federal way

Zoey had a tournament this weekend near Monique’s house and a bunch of family came to support her. Flame did an excellent job and got third place in the gold bracket. We are all so proud of them! I was still at home recovering and watched game changer and felt somewhat a part of things. I’m so thankful that they record the games so we can watch at home. 

Zoey and Fern

For little league tonight, Zoey’s team played Fern’s team and Fern’s mom got a really good shot of them at the game! I think it was really fun for them to play against each other and have that camaraderie even though they were on other teams. 

Sinus surgery

I’m a bit nervous for my sinus surgery, but I’m ready to go and have my silly little air puffy heated blanket! 

Surgery went great and apparently I was covered with cyst and polyps and so I’m hoping after all the swelling is gone I start feeling 100% better! Now just recovery which should take about a month. 

Being nostalgic

This week has been a really weird week for me with all the emotions. I’m going to miss having the best job I could ever ask for. I go through emotions of happy, sad, angry, excited, and nervous just about every hour. I have no idea what I’m going to do and where I’ll end up, and that makes me extremely nervous and hopeful and excited all at the same time. I am one of the few people they asked to stay on till December to help with a transition, and I have decided to do it. After that, I will get a decent severance package to give me time to look for a new job. 

Curtis and I have been spending the weekend chilling while Zoey is at Young life camp in OR. Today we even took the Jeep out and rode to lunch. This weekend was exactly what I needed and was amazing to feel like old times and familiar as I feel like my life is spinning out. I know in my heart that Curtis and I will be fine, but the sense of uncertainty definitely is weighing on me and it is going to be a challenging year. 

Got laid off

Well, it finally happened after an amazing 18 year ride. NBC News split into two companies and since I worked on the brands going to Versant, they don’t allow remote people in leadership positions so I was laid off. I’m in total shock and super sad I can’t believe this is coming to an end. 😭😢😭😢😭😢😭😢😭😭😭😭😭😭

Busy day

 Sheila come over today to watch Zoey at her cheer game and then hang out and play games. She surprised me and brought a plant pot that she made for me. It is so cool and now I have to find the perfect plant for it that will do it justice. hhhmmmmm

New pots!!!

 Meet the two cutest plant pots you have EVER seen! I love them so much and they make me smile everytime I look at them. I'm going to be hanging out at the fire pit a lot more now. 

Candy birthday surprise

 

One evening I got a call from Candy's sister informing that Candy really wanted to go see Elton John for her 50th birthday so Katie and I made it happen. On the day of her party we planted different EJ pictures around the house as clues and when she figured it out she started to cry. It was so wonderful being able to make one of by best friends so happy. I love her so much and we had a blast at the concert! Thank you Elton John for an amazing concert! 

Sister time!

 Getting together with my sisters is always a good time and today was no different. Love each one of them so much!!!

Cheer game

 We always have so much fun cheering for Zoey even though watching the actual football game is distracting lol. Go Zoey Go!!!

 What a crazy weekend of fun!!!
